The Opportunity
This is a foundational recruiting role at a fast-growing, venture-backed startup. You will own talent acquisition end-to-end—partnering directly with the CEO and hiring managers to identify, attract, and close exceptional candidates across engineering, GTM, and operations.
Hiring is one of the highest-leverage things we do. As our first dedicated recruiter, you will help shape how Hostie attracts talent, define our candidate experience, and build the processes that scale with us.
This role is ideal for someone who loves the craft of recruiting, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to have a meaningful impact on a company from the ground up.
What You’ll Work On
Projects will vary depending on company priorities, but may include:
Full-Cycle Recruiting
- Own the full recruiting lifecycle—sourcing, screening, coordinating, and closing candidates across all open roles
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, scorecards, and ideal candidate profiles
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of candidates through outbound sourcing, referrals, and inbound channels
Talent Brand & Candidate Experience
- Craft a candidate experience that reflects Hostie’s hospitality-first values at every touchpoint
- Help develop and promote Hostie’s employer brand across LinkedIn, job boards, and industry networks
- Represent Hostie at recruiting events, conferences, and within hospitality and tech communities
Recruiting Operations
- Build and maintain our ATS and recruiting workflows to keep pipelines organized and moving
- Track recruiting metrics and report on pipeline health, time-to-fill, and offer acceptance rates
- Establish interview processes and training to ensure consistency and reduce bias across hiring decisions
Who This Role Is Ideal For
We’re looking for someone who treats recruiting as a craft and takes pride in connecting great people with great opportunities.
Ideal candidates may come from:
- In-house recruiting roles at early-stage or high-growth startups
- Technical or GTM recruiting at a staffing agency or executive search firm
- People operations or HR generalist roles with a strong focus on talent acquisition
You likely have:
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally at a startup or in a high-growth environment
- A track record of closing strong candidates for technical, sales, and operational roles
- Experience building sourcing strategies and pipelines from scratch—not just managing inbound
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; candidates enjoy talking to you
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building processes where none exist yet
- Familiarity with ATS platforms and recruiting tools (Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, or similar)
