Who we are

We’re a team of restaurant owners, operators, hospitality leaders, product designers, and AI engineers who understand the realities of running a service-driven business because we’ve lived it ourselves.

Backed by Obvious Ventures, Gradient, Scribble Ventures, Burst Capital, Behind Genius Ventures, and some of hospitality’s most respected operators and advisors, Hostie was built to help restaurants manage guest communication without losing what makes hospitality special in the first place. Today, Hostie partners with some of the most respected restaurants and hospitality groups across the country.

Hostie is advised by industry leaders including Thomas Layton, former CEO at OpenTable, Mike Dodson, former SVP of Sales at OpenTable and Resy board member, and Mike Stoppelman, former VP of Engineering at Yelp. Hostie is the Virtual Concierge for independent restaurants and hospitality groups. We make sure that hospitality never goes unanswered.

Story

While running Back to Back in San Francisco, Randall was buried in calls, texts, and emails—pulled away from the work that actually grows a restaurant. He called his longtime friend Brendan, an AI engineer at Lindy.ai. Together, they decided to solve the problem for good, and Hostie was born.
